Villa Simone is an exclusive side-by-side duplex, with only one side available to stay. We (owners) live on one side. There is a shared patio. The rental Villa is equipped with a large loft bedroom featuring a comfy queen bed and A/C, a fully fitted kitchen with gas stove, large screen TV, a modern bath and a wonderful patio overlooking the beach. If you’re travelling with others or family members and have need for more sleeping space, there is a lock off second bedroom fitted with a double bed and the option of a single bed (bunk style) available for an additional fee. Be sure to put that in your comments when booking
The property is gated, fenced and has security cameras. Your privacy is ensured while making your EL Jobo vacation experience one to remember.

At Villa Simone you will experience nature at it’s best, located on and overlooking the beach. It comes fully equipped with the choicest linens, a queen bed and a fully stocked kitchen. Kick back and relax overlooking the white sands of Playa Copal or lounge on the beachfront grass with a tropical drink in hand. Watch the spider monkeys swing from the trees above as you doze off for an afternoon nap in the warm breeze. Parrots, iguanas and coconut-eating squirrels can be seen in the trees throughout the day, and some pretty big fish and rays can be seen jumping near the beach.

About your hosts
After a 10 year hiatus from the tropical central American life, TJ and his gal Linda decided it was time to return to paradise. Originally from Canada, they each raised families as single parents, so they know what adventure is all about.
They have five boys between them and TJ also has a grown daughter with three grandchildren. Done with the ever tightening grip of the controlling governments and always longing for a simpler life filled with sunny, sandy beaches, they decided that the laid back pura vida lifestyle of Costa Rica was to be their forever home.
While scouring the country, visiting the beaches and the rugged mountains in the rainforest, they discovered the hidden gem of El Jobo, La Cruz. With more than a dozen beaches, within a 4-5 minute drive of each other—all completely different and unspoiled—the lure of endless brilliant orange sunsets, tranquil morning swims, and smiling, friendly locals was all they needed to decide to settle here permanently.
With TJ‘s extensive background in real estate and development in the Caribbean isle of Roatán, he sees this area as ripe for investment and relocation. Having been one of the top 10 realtors in the world, it’s no wonder he has discovered the hidden gem of El Jobo as his next adventure.

We are literally located right on the beach in Playa Copal in the village of El Jobo–about 15 kms from the town of La Cruz. Copal is a small community of mostly ex-pats who like to kite board, windsurf and generally love the beach life. About 2 kilometres from El Jobo town center, Villa Simone is perfectly located walking distance to restaurants, shopping and kiteboarding schools. Groceries can be found at numerous “Pulperias” in and around El Jobo. The main town of La Cruz is where there are supermarkets, hardware stores, restaurants and more is just a 15 min drive away.
Villa Simone is a beautiful beachfront duplex. Owners live on one side. You’re renting the other side. Shared covered patio and yard. Gated with lots of parking available. Sleeps 2-3. There is a 2nd bedroom available if needed. This also can sleep 2-3. Maximum occupancy is 5 total.

You can walk to most places, but having transportation is encouraged. We rent 110cc gas powered scooters as well which are a lot of fun and great for touring the local area.
Villa Simone is a gorgeous Italian designed old world concrete duplex on the beach in Copal. There is a room safe in each Villa. Crime is pretty much non-existent, but we still encourage vigilance when out and about. Lock up valuables in your car and out of sight when on the beach. Petty theft is a reality everywhere.
We live on the property on one side and we rent out the other side. In addition to our 5 dogs (1 husky, 1 minature schnauzer, 1 rescue hound-cross, 2 older chihuahuas) we are gated, well lit at night and have security cameras. Oh, and we have 2 Ninja cats that are ready to kick some butt if need be.
Restaurante La Copaleña is located right in Copal, about a 2 minute walk from Villa Simone. Great local seafood, steaks and appys. Good prices. Open for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.
El fogon de Juana is another of Linda’s favorites and is about 1 km from the Villa. Great local cuisine at great prices.
The Naked Indian is ex-pat owned and tucked away in the jungle. Great local atmosphere, good food and amazing drinks.. like the Jalapeño Margarita… mmm! It’s about 3 kms away.
Tatay Cafe Restaurante And Seafood is located in El Jobo town center and serves up the best burger in Costa Rica! You gotta try that if you’re yearning for the taste of home.
Linda and TJ opened and operated a 4 casita Bed & Breakfast for their first 2 years here in El Jobo and acquired Villa Simone in June 2025.
Being a chef at heart, TJ loves whipping up amazing culinary creations from fresh local ingredients. Occasional breakfasts (you must try his world famous banana pancakes) and dinners may be available for our guests at market prices. It really depends on what’s fresh that day. El Jobo is a fishing village so there’s usually a bounty of fresh Mahi Mahi, lobster, octopus and other fish available daily. Check with TJ to see if he’s cooking that day.
Colones is the local currency here and most businesses will except US dollars as well. Exchange rate fluctuates and some vendors will hose you. Ask in advance. You can convert US dollars to colones at any bank in La Cruz. You can also withdraw colones or US cash from the many ATMs there. Check with your bank for exchange rates. Canadian money is useless in Costa Rica and banks won’t even look at it.
Most businesses in Costa Rica take credit/debit cards. We accept only cash at Villa Simone for incidentals, meals, snorkel tours and scooter rentals.
You betcha! Often people don’t want to rent a car, especially if they plan to stay in the area. We can provide transportation to/from the airport if requested. Price is $120 each way (for up to 4 people)
You’re coming to a tropical jungle… there’s bugs. Most days are great being there is usually a gentle breeze blowing. But at times there are insects so bring bug spray!
Wall outlets are 110v with plugs just like North America. Electricity is expensive in Costa Rica, so we ask you to turn off appliances and A/C units when you’re not in the Villa.
We have 2 gas-powered scooters available for rent. No licence required. Helmet and gas included.
